Adolescents, Adults, Couples and Families; Trauma, Dual Diagnosis and Substance Use, Anxiety, Depression

Kat currently accepts clients with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Tufts Commercial, or Optum insurance (which includes Harvard Pilgrim, Health Plans, Allways Health Partners, United HealthCare, and United Behavioral Health), or who are self pay.

Kat earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Pitzer College in California and Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. She has a history supporting individuals with dual diagnosis disorders, specializing in Substance Use Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Kat also previously worked at McLean Hospital doing research in neuroscience focusing on depression and anxiety.

Kat works with individuals, couples, and families to co-create spaces of safety and healing in order to support long term success. Together, Kat and her clients uncover and unpack patterns of behavior and thought that may no longer be serving a purpose. With a trusting therapeutic dynamic, Kat encourages new, empowered patterns that support client goals and authentic development of self. Kat utilizes a holistic approach drawing upon strengths based, feminist, and internal family system theories to find the best fit for every client. Kat leverages her background in art and meditation to keep therapy stimulating and accessible.

When not at Mass Bay Counseling, Kat works part time as a tattoo artist helping individuals reclaim their bodies and find self empowerment. Kat also enjoys spoiling her dog and testing new jam recipes.
