Whether you’re brand new to therapy or have tried treatment in the past, Katie warmly welcomes you to Mass Bay Counseling. Her therapeutic approach is supportive, flexible, and strengths-based as she remains responsive to each person’s unique needs and goals. Katie believes in a person-centered approach in collaboration with individuals and families through a broad range of evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). When working with children and adolescents, Katie also utilizes play therapy.
Katie received her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling & Behavioral Medicine from Boston University’s School of Medicine where she developed a greater understanding in neuroscience and psychopharmacology. She recently became a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Katie has previous experience working in elementary education in Brooklyn. Her clinical experience ranges from a therapeutic day school to partial hospitalization treatment. Katie is also passionate about facilitating therapy groups on a range of topics including emotional regulation, self empowerment, and skills-based groups.
When Katie isn’t being a clinician, she is typically attending live music concerts, reading a great fiction book, or testing out her newfound baking skills. (Don’t forget solving the daily Wordle in the fewest attempts possible). All these hobbies and interests are considered essential parts of her self care routine!
